Presidential and National Assembly election: Saturday 16 January 2027. Governorship and State Assembly: Saturday 6 February 2027. Party primaries were held 23 April to 30 May 2026; Tinubu won the APC presidential ticket on 24 May 2026. Presidential and NASS campaigning opened 19 August 2026 (150 days before the poll, per section 98(1)); governorship campaigns open 9 September 2026. INEC's stated campaign end date is 14 January 2027. Section 100 makes publishing campaign material within 24 hours of polling day an offence carrying ₦3m–₦5m or six months imprisonment — and a social media post is publication.
The counter-argument
INEC has already debunked a viral graphic claiming the end date moved. Do not rely on unofficial timetable graphics.
